Cafe and Coffee Shop Web Design

Cafe and Coffee Shop Web Design, From £695

Your website is not how people find your cafe. It is what they check before they come, and where you send everyone from Instagram. That is a small job done properly, not a big one.

What a Cafe Website Actually Needs

Somebody standing outside in the rain, or lying in bed on a Sunday morning, wants to know four things. Most cafe websites bury all four.
What They Want
Are you open. Today, now, and over the bank holiday. The single most looked-at thing on any cafe site, and the one most often out of date. Where exactly you are. With parking, and whether the pushchair fits through the door. What you serve. As readable text, not a photograph of a chalkboard and not a PDF that opens in another tab. Somewhere to buy, if you sell. Beans, merch, gift cards, subscriptions. Only if you actually post things.
What They Do Not
A slideshow of latte art that takes four seconds to load before anything else appears. A booking system, unless you genuinely take bookings. Most walk-in cafes do not. An our story page longer than the menu. A blog. You are running a cafe. You will write two posts and then stop, and everybody knows it.
One more thing, and it is free. For footfall, your Google Business Profile does more work than your website ever will. Keep the hours right on there, add photos, reply to reviews. I will set the website up to support it and tell you what to do with the rest, at no cost, because it genuinely matters more than anything I can sell you.
Coffee Shop and Roaster · Warrington

Dick’s Bean Bar

A coffee shop and roaster in Warrington who needed to sell beans online as well as over the counter. Built as a small WordPress shop so orders can be handled between customers rather than needing somebody sat at a laptop. Nothing more complicated than it had to be, and quick enough that people do not give up on it.

£695 To Build, £35 a Month To Look After

Five pages is more than most cafes need. Home, menu, find us, about, and one spare. Live in under a week, and you can change your own opening hours afterwards without ringing anybody. Then hosting, business email, weekly updates and backups twice a day for £35 a month. If you want to sell beans, subscriptions or merch as well, that is a shop rather than a brochure site and I will quote it separately before we start. Small ones are welcome. Hundreds of products is a different job and I will say so.

Cafe Web Design Questions

Instagram is where people find you. The website is where they check you are open, work out where you are, and look at the menu before they come. It is also somewhere you own, rather than somewhere that could change its rules on Tuesday.
Yes, and you should. It is a WordPress site, so you log in, change the hours, and save. I will show you how, and it takes about a minute. Change them on your Google Business Profile at the same time.
I would rather not, and neither would your customers. A PDF opens in another tab, is unreadable on a phone without pinching, and Google cannot make much of it. Menus work far better as normal text, and they are easier for you to change.
Yes. That is a small WordPress shop rather than a brochure site, so it is quoted separately, but it is a normal thing to add. Coffee subscriptions in particular work well once the basics are right.
Same thing, same price. The four questions people arrive with do not change much between a cafe, a bakery and a deli counter.
The site will be built so it can, with proper structure, fast loading and your location set up correctly. For a cafe though, your Google Business Profile matters more than the website for local searches, and that part is free. I will tell you what to do with it.
