Straight Talking

Nobody on the New Estates Knows a Plumber Yet

Warrington has not stopped building, and whole streets that were fields not long ago are now full of people who moved here from somewhere else. They have no neighbour to ask about a decent joiner and no mate down the pub who knows a garage. When the boiler goes, they search. Your existing customers found you by reputation and that will keep working. This is the other half of the town, and being findable is the only way they will ever hear of you. Here is what that takes.
The Build
Designed and built by me from scratch, five pages as standard and more if you need them Works properly on phones, which is where most of Warrington will see it Built to load fast, because slow sites lose people before they arrive Page titles, structure and sitemap set up for Google from day one
And Then
Help with the words, including how to write them for search Changes until you are happy, not a fixed two rounds Built on WordPress, so you can log in and change things yourself Usually live inside a week of starting
The Design

What Website Design Actually Involves

At £695 the obvious question is whether you are getting a template with your logo dropped on the top. You are not, and it is worth explaining what you are getting instead.
Structure Comes First
Before anything gets designed, I work out what the site has to say and in what order, with you. Which pages exist, what goes at the top of each one, and what a stranger needs to know before they will ring you. Most small business websites go wrong here rather than in the design. They look perfectly nice and they bury the one thing the visitor came for. That is also the part that decides how Google reads it. Page titles, headings and the way the site is put together are structural decisions, not something sprinkled on at the end.
Then the Design Itself
Type, colour and spacing chosen to suit your trade rather than whatever a theme arrived with. A joiner and a therapist should not end up with the same website in different colours, and they will not. It gets designed for a phone first, because that is where most of Warrington will see it, then made to work upwards from there. Speed is part of the design too. Image sizes, how much is on a page, how many things load before anything appears. Sorting that during the build is why it comes out fast rather than needing a plugin to rescue it afterwards.
You see it on a private link before anybody else does, and we keep going until you are happy rather than stopping at a set number of rounds. Everything is built on WordPress, so once it is live you can log in and change your own text and photos without ringing anybody.
Coffee Shop and Roaster · Warrington

Dick’s Bean Bar

A coffee shop and roaster in Warrington who needed to sell beans online as well as over the counter. Built as a small WordPress shop so orders can be handled between customers rather than needing somebody sat at a laptop. Quick to load, easy to run, and nothing more complicated than it had to be.

Pricing

£695 To Build, £35 a Month To Look After

A website designed and built by me, five pages as standard, often live inside a week. Need more pages, or a small shop? I quote a fixed price before anything starts, and you will know it before you commit to anything. Then hosting, business email, weekly updates and backups twice a day for £35 a month. Warrington sits between two cities, which means most local businesses get pitched by agencies from both. If somebody has quoted you three or four thousand for a small brochure site, send me what they proposed and I will tell you honestly whether it is worth the money. Same price whether you are in the town centre, Stockton Heath, Birchwood, Great Sankey, Lymm, Culcheth or Penketh.

Warrington Web Design Questions

No, and I would rather say so than pretend. I work from Wallasey on the Wirral, about forty minutes away, and I already look after a business in the town. Being a drive rather than round the corner has never once mattered to the work.
No office, no sales team, no account managers and no marketing budget. For a small business website there is no part of an agency you actually need, and none of that overhead ever made anybody’s site better.
The site will be built so it can. Proper structure, fast loading, correct tagging, and set up so Google understands what you do and where. Warrington is competitive though, and anybody promising you a position is selling you something. What I can promise is a site that is not holding you back.
Yes, if you would rather. Warrington is an easy run and a coffee costs nothing. Equally, if you would sooner do the lot by email and never have a meeting, that is completely fine.
Small ones, yes, and there is one in Warrington already. Beans, subscriptions, a modest product range. Hundreds of products with stock systems and complicated postage is a different job and I will say so rather than take it on badly.
Yes. If it works but nobody is maintaining it, I will take it on from £35 a month and move it across for nothing. If it needs replacing rather than maintaining, I will tell you that instead.
