Web Design Wirral

Web Design on the Wirral, From £695

I am Chris Evans, a freelance web designer, and I live here. Not a national company with a Wirral landing page, not an agency with a postcode it has never visited. Wallasey, actually, and you are welcome to come and find me in the Woodhouse.

Straight Talking

Local Means Something Here

Search for web design on the Wirral and most of what comes back is a national outfit with a page for every town in England, or an agency in a city somewhere that will happily add you to a list. I work from Wallasey, I have built for businesses on this side of the water, and I know the difference between a shop in Birkenhead and a practice in Heswall. None of which makes a website better on its own, so here is the part that does.
The Build
Designed and built by me from scratch, five pages as standard and more if you need them Works properly on phones, which is where most of the peninsula will see it Built to load fast, because slow sites lose people before they arrive Page titles, structure and sitemap set up for Google from day one
And Then
Help with the words, including how to write them for search Changes until you are happy, not a fixed two rounds Built on WordPress, so you can log in and change things yourself Usually live inside a week of starting
Being nearby just means that if you would rather sit across a table from the person building it, that is a fifteen minute drive rather than a video call with somebody in a different postcode.
The Design

What Website Design Actually Involves

At this price the fair question is whether you are getting a template with your logo dropped on the top. You are not, and it is worth explaining what you are getting instead.
Structure First
I work out what the site has to say and in what order before anything gets designed. Which pages exist, what sits at the top of each one, and what a stranger needs to know before they will pick up the phone. Most small business websites go wrong here rather than in the design. They look perfectly smart and they bury the one thing the visitor came for. It is also what decides how Google reads the site. Page titles, headings and the way it is put together are structural decisions, not something added at the end.
Then the Design
Type, colour and spacing chosen to suit your trade rather than whatever a theme arrived with. A trade in Birkenhead and a practice in Heswall should not end up with the same website in different colours, and they will not. Designed for a phone first, since that is where most people will see it, then built upwards from there. Speed is a design decision too. Image sizes, how much sits on a page, how many things load before anything appears. Sorting that during the build is why it comes out fast rather than needing a plugin to rescue it later.
You see it on a private link before anybody else does, and I keep going until you are happy rather than stopping at a set number of rounds. Already have a site that needs replacing rather than building? That is a redesign and it costs the same.
Where I Cover

Across the Whole Peninsula

Wallasey, Birkenhead, Bebington, Heswall, West Kirby, Hoylake, Bromborough, Neston, Ellesmere Port and everywhere between. It is not a big peninsula and I will come to you wherever you are on it. The businesses differ more than the distances do. A trade in Birkenhead is usually being found by somebody with a problem and a phone in their hand, so the site has to load fast and put the number in front of them. A practice in Heswall or a shop in West Kirby is more often being weighed up before anyone gets in touch, so it has to feel right as much as work properly. Same build, different emphasis, and knowing which is which is half the job. Just over the water, I also work with businesses in Liverpool, Widnes, Runcorn and Chester.
Pricing

£695 To Build, £35 a Month To Look After

A website designed and built by me, five pages as standard and more if you need them, often live inside a week. Anything beyond that I quote as a fixed price before we start. Then hosting, business email, weekly updates and backups twice a day for £35 a month. No quote form, no discovery call, no local premium because you happen to be nearby. The prices are the prices and they are on the page.
What's Included
Therapist · Wirral

Tim Griffiths

A therapist on the Wirral who needed a calm, uncluttered site that explains the work and makes getting in touch feel straightforward rather than daunting. Written plainly, built to load quickly, and structured so that somebody searching locally for that kind of help actually finds it. No stock photography, no jargon, and nothing on the page that is not doing a job.

Questions

Wirral Web Design Questions

Wallasey. I work from home most of the time, and there is a fair chance of finding me in the Woodhouse with a laptop. If you would rather meet somewhere closer to you, anywhere on the peninsula is a short drive.
No. It is £695 to build and £35 a month to look after, whether you are in Birkenhead or Bristol. Being nearby is convenient rather than chargeable.
It will be built so it can. Proper structure, fast loading, correct tagging, and set up so Google understands where you trade and what you do. Nobody can promise a position, because that depends on your competition and on work done over time rather than on the build alone.
Yes, and quite a few people prefer to. A coffee somewhere on the peninsula is easy to arrange and does not cost anything. Equally, if you would rather do the lot by email and never have a meeting, that is entirely fine.
No. I build for businesses right across the UK and most of it happens over email and WhatsApp regardless. Being on the Wirral just means the option of meeting is genuinely open rather than something I say and then avoid.
That is a common one and yes. If the site itself is sound I will take it over from £35 a month and move it across for nothing. If it is beyond saving I will tell you that instead of quietly charging you to maintain something that should be replaced.
