Get your phone out and work through these. You will learn more in five minutes than from any quote.
Open it on your phone, on mobile data. Not wifi. Count how long before you can read anything. Three seconds is fine. Eight is losing you people who will never know they were nearly a customer. Try to find your phone number. Time it. If it takes more than five seconds on a phone screen, it is costing you calls every week. Try to change something yourself. Your opening hours, a price, a photo. If you cannot do it without ringing somebody, you do not really control your own website.
Search Google for what you do plus your town. Not your business name, that always works. If you are nowhere, the site is not telling Google what you do or where. Read your homepage as a stranger. First screen, no scrolling. Is it obvious what you do, who for, and what to do next? Most homepages fail this one. Put it beside your two nearest competitors. Same screen, side by side. You will know within about four seconds, and so does everybody choosing between you.
One or two bothering you? That is a tidy-up, not a redesign. A couple of hours, charged by the hour, and I will say so rather than sell you a rebuild. Three or more? The problem is underneath rather than on the surface, and patching it costs more over time than replacing it.

Northwest Comms, an ex-BT telephone and broadband engineer covering Liverpool, Manchester and Cheshire. Thirty years on the job and a website that was not doing any of it justice. People ring a telephone engineer when their broadband has stopped working, usually from the phone in their hand. The old site was slow and hard going on exactly that screen. Not if it is done properly. Your page addresses stay the same where they can, anything that has to change gets redirected, and pages already bringing you work carry across. Nobody can promise rankings will improve, but a rebuild should never cost you what you already had.

No. The new one is built and tested somewhere else entirely while yours carries on as normal. The switch itself takes minutes.

Nothing, unless you want it to. Email and websites are separate things and a redesign does not have to touch yours. If you are moving hosting to me as well, I move the mailboxes across and set them up on your phone.

More common than you would think, and usually solvable. If the site is live I can normally trace who hosts it and recover access.

Then it is a rebuild rather than a transfer, because neither lets you export a working site. Same job, same price, and your content and page addresses still come across.

Usually under a week once we start. Rebuilding is often quicker than starting from nothing, because the content already exists and we are not staring at a blank page wondering what the site should say.
