LRM uPVC: A Website and SEO Strategy Built to Win Local Repair Work

LRM uPVC repairs windows, doors and locks across Runcorn, Widnes and the surrounding area, and has done since 2005. I built the website, planned the SEO around what local customers actually search for, and I’ve looked after it since 2016.

The Starting Point

A Busy Local Trade, and a Crowded Search Results Page

Liam runs LRM uPVC on his own, fixing the windows, doors and locks that most people would otherwise pay to replace. Plenty of people search for exactly that, but so do dozens of competitors, national firms and directories.

The website needed to show up for the specific repairs customers search for, in the towns Liam actually covers, and turn those searches into calls and WhatsApp messages.

The Brief

  • Show up for local repair searches, not just the business name
  • Focus on Runcorn, Widnes and the surrounding towns
  • Make calling or messaging Liam quick and easy
  • Keep it simple enough for Liam to update himself

What I Did

SEO Planned Properly, Then Built Into the Website

Rather than guessing, every decision was based on search data and on how customers actually look for a repair.

A large-scale analysis of what people in the area search for, cleaned of irrelevant terms, so the work focuses on searches that turn into jobs.

Competitor Gap Analysis

A close look at the businesses ranking above LRM, to find the services and searches they weren’t covering well.

Pages That Match Real Searches

Service pages built around specific jobs, with overlapping pages merged so they support each other instead of competing.

Local Targeting

Runcorn and Widnes given the strongest focus, with the wider area covered sensibly rather than with dozens of thin town pages.

Helpful Content

Content that answers the questions customers ask, from warped window frames to removing a window for a sofa delivery.

Calls and WhatsApp First

Phone and WhatsApp buttons made obvious throughout, because that’s how people with a broken lock want to get in touch.

The Results

Higher Up Google for the Searches That Matter

Comparing May to August 2026 with the same months in 2025, LRM uPVC ranks much higher on average, and a far bigger share of the people who see it in Google click through.

Less Noise, More Local Focus

A local repair business doesn’t need to be seen by people who could never book a job. Over the same period, the website’s appearances in searches from outside the UK fell by 90%. In the UK it climbed from an average position of 30 to 20, and a bigger share of the people who see it click through. The website is now working harder for the searches that actually lead to work in Runcorn, Widnes and the surrounding area.

Looked After

Working Together Since 2016

I’ve looked after LRM uPVC’s website since 2016, hosting it, keeping it secure and continuing to shape the SEO as the business and Google change.

That means the strategy never sits in a drawer. Each new page, fix and piece of content builds on the research behind it.

Chris has been looking after my business website for many years now, great affordable work and a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommend.
